pura Mineral Insulation Board

Genuine progress in the building sector: pura is a completely natural material. *It does not contain any fibers or resins whatsoever but a clay component to improve the structural properties. With its all-natural ingredients it achieves a thermal conductivity of 0.045 W/mK – and thus reaches the U-value (heat transfer coefficient) required by the German Energy Saving Ordinance EnEV 2006, even though it is only a few centimeters thick.

  • * Confirmed by the "Recommended by Building Biologists" commendation from the Institute for Building Biology in Rosenheim.

Effective by nature
Owing to its capillary, vapor-diffusion structure the board succeeds in absorbing large quantities of water and releasing them again during ventilation. It therefore regulates not only the heat balance but also the moisture balance in the building in a completely natural way. Since pura has hydrophilic properties, there is no need for a vapor barrier, which is often a structural weak point anyway.

Mold remains outside
Internal insulation with redstone pura increases the surface temperature of the wall inside and thus significantly reduces not only heat losses but also the risk of mold.

Nothing is left to chance
For construction work and building rehabilitation the legal regulations specify not only thermal insulation but also good fire protection properties: materials which do not develop smoke or toxic gases in the event of a fire. Awarded fire rating A1, redstone pura is guaranteed to meet those requirements.

Simple. Everywhere.
On large surfaces, on angled, highly segmented walls or on wall projections and reveals: the easy-to-handle, lightweight board facilitates all steps during installation. It is easy to cut to size, quick to affix securely wherever it is needed, and immediately ready for surface design. That saves time and money.

The State helps with insulation
The higher the reduction of carbon dioxide, the higher the subsidy: that is the principle behind the new carbon dioxide building rehabilitation program issued by the German government and KfW Förderbank (subsidy bank of the Reconstruction Loan Corporation). Since 1 January 2007 owners of existing buildings who wish to reduce the energy consumption of their home significantly can expect to receive much higher support in the form of extremely low-interest loans and subsidies. If the figure falls below the EnEV new-build level by at least 30 per cent, the amount of funding rises accordingly. For further information see www.energiefoerderung.info.
