Solutions to deal with structural defects
Facts about moisture
One shortcoming which is bound to lead to mold is thermal breaks and other insulation defects. They can cause internal condensation, mold, and ultimately damage to the building fabric and people's health. The good news: there are two successful countermeasures - the Multirenovation system and the USP Universal Renovation Board - both of which solve insulation problems and moisture problems effectively.
Solutions to deal with structural defects - insulation to escape the problem zone
When cold becomes critical - physics and other causes
Wherever insulation is missing, partially or completely, mold cannot be far. It is easy to prove, as is demonstrated in
practice - and by physics. There is a law in physics which says that currents of heat in a room tend to balance themselves out;
the heat will always endeavor to penetrate a colder area, via a thermal break, which acts as a kind of bridge. At the same time
this higher current of heat always causes a heat loss; the wall becomes colder as a result, over the entire surface
(if insulation is generally inadequate) or locally (if there are thermal breaks). A lower surface temperature, on the other hand,
can easily lead to surface condensation; water precipitates and keeps an area continuously moist. Using a 3k table always find out
exactly where the mold-critical point is located. This is precisely where the Multirenovation system comes in. On account of its thermal
conductivity and good insulating properties it raises the surface temperature - and thus gets you out of the mold danger zone.
The thermal break – a mold-critical standard situation
Thermal breaks arise wherever different temperatures meet. The most typical example of this is the geometric thermal break. A cold corner between external walls – a relatively large area – is located opposite a smaller area on the inside. According to physics the heat is attracted outwards and the surface temperature of the internal corner decreases, the symptoms of which are unmistakable black mold stains appearing after some time. The best solution is to increase surface temperature using the Multirenovation system.
The moist danger from inside
Warmth, insulation, an intact structure, but nevertheless damp and mold? Unfortunately this is not uncommon. It is not solely caused by temperature – relative humidity also has to be correct. If it is approx. 70% for more than two hours a day (a rule of thumb), there is an urgent risk of internal condensation. Absorbent materials such as wallpaper, plaster, etc. absorb condensation at the surface.
Airing is usually not sufficient
Such a critical situation has soon come about – simply through normal living habits, whereby large quantities of water are released: cooking, taking a shower or bath, drying clothes, aquariums, plants, etc. Airing might be the solution, but in many cases it is not. Since airing is performed too seldom, for too short a time or incorrectly, the problem remains precisely where it originates: inside. The remedy would be to absorb the moisture and distribute it on the spot, to store it before it can cause any damage and to release it again quickly during the airing process. redstone provides this option in a number of ways: with the comprehensive Multirenovation system and WOS Anti-Condensation Coating.
